Hikvision Live Guard: see, alert and deter
Hikvision’s 6MP ColorVu 3.0 Live Guard cameras do more than record an event. They combine detailed video, smart human and vehicle detection, phone notifications and built-in warning features designed to discourage unwanted visitors.
Each package includes wired PoE cameras, an 8-channel M2 network video recorder and a 4TB surveillance hard drive. We install the cabling, configure the system, connect Hik-Connect to your phone and show you how everything works.

Capture detailed footage around entrances, driveways and outdoor areas, with improved low-light image processing from Hikvision’s ColorVu 3.0 platform.
Smart Hybrid Light
Use infrared at night for discreet monitoring, then activate white light when a person is detected and colour detail is needed.
Human and vehicle detection
AI classification focuses alerts on people and vehicles to reduce notifications caused by rain, insects, moving trees and other irrelevant motion.
Flashing light and audible warning
Live Guard can respond to a configured event with a flashing warning light and audible deterrent to let an intruder know they have been detected.
Two-way audio
Built-in microphones and a speaker let you hear what is happening and speak through supported cameras from the Hik-Connect app.

Colour when it matters, without a white light running all night
Smart Hybrid Light combines infrared and white illumination. In low light, the camera can monitor discreetly in infrared. When a person enters a configured detection area, the white light can switch on so the camera records useful colour detail.
If there is already enough ambient light for a colour image, the camera may remain in colour without turning on its white light. The exact behaviour depends on the scene, lighting and settings, which we configure during installation.
Useful notifications instead of constant motion alerts
Hikvision’s human and vehicle classification helps filter out much of the background movement that causes traditional motion alerts. When notifications are enabled, Hik-Connect can alert you to a person or vehicle detected in the areas you choose.
Detection zones and schedules are configured to suit the property. No camera can eliminate every unwanted alert, but correct positioning and setup make a major difference.
View, review and receive alerts with Hik-Connect
We set up the Hik-Connect app during handover, including live viewing, playback and notifications. Your footage remains stored locally on the NVR, with no subscription required for standard app access.

Check any camera from your phone, whether you are at work, away or simply want to see what is happening outside.
Playback
Review footage stored on the 4TB hard drive and move through the timeline to find a person, vehicle or recorded event.

Send your suburb, whether your home is single or double storey, and the areas you want covered. For a standard single-storey home with pitched-roof access, we can usually confirm the package without an initial site visit.
2. Book and plan the coverage
We provide available installation dates. On the day, we discuss camera positions with you and tailor the coverage to your home before installation begins.
3. Installation and Hik-Connect setup
We install the cameras and cabling, configure the recorder, set up live view and notifications on your phone, then show you how to find and share footage.
Moving into a new home? These packages also suit newly completed single-storey homes with suitable roof access. Tell us when the property will be ready and we can discuss installation.

What is Hikvision Live Guard?
Live Guard combines video detection with active warning features. When a configured event occurs, supported cameras can use a flashing light and audible warning to discourage an unwanted visitor while recording the event.
How does Smart Hybrid Light work?
The camera combines infrared and white illumination. It can monitor discreetly in infrared, then use white light to capture colour detail when a person is detected. If ambient light is already sufficient, the camera may remain in colour without activating its white light.
Will the system send notifications to my phone?
Yes. When Hik-Connect notifications are enabled, the system can alert you to detected human or vehicle events. We configure the app, detection areas and basic notification settings during handover.
Can it tell the difference between people and vehicles?
The cameras classify detected targets as humans or vehicles to reduce alerts caused by general movement. Performance still depends on camera position, distance, lighting, weather and configuration.
Can I talk through the cameras?
Yes. These Live Guard cameras include microphones and a speaker for two-way audio through the Hik-Connect app, subject to network conditions and app permissions.
How long will recordings be stored?
Both packages include a 4TB surveillance hard drive. Recording time varies with camera count, image quality, frame rate, encoding settings and scene activity, so we do not promise a fixed number of days.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. Both packages include an 8-channel recorder. The four-camera package leaves four channels available, while the six-camera package leaves two. Additional equipment and installation are quoted separately.
What is included in the installation price?
GST, the listed cameras, 8-channel M2 recorder, 4TB hard drive, standard cabling, configuration, Hik-Connect setup, training and handover are included for standard single-storey homes with pitched-roof access. Other property types and additional work require a separate quote.
What warranty is included?
Both packages include a three-year manufacturer warranty on the hardware and a one-year labour warranty on the installation. After the first year, a service fee applies for site attendance and warranty processing.
